The National Coalition of Black Women (NCBW), Incorporated is a 32-year old advocacy organization that advocates on behalf of women of color through national and local actions and strategic alliances that promote the NCBW agenda on leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment. The organization has chartered over 75 chapters in 25 states, and has a current membership of approximately 7500 women.
NCBW Membership is through sponsorship of active members of the organization, and requires commitment of an individual’s time and financial resources to the organization. This process will take approximately a year to become a NCBW Chapter. Your interest in the NCBW is the beginning of the formulation of the NCBW, Richmond, VA Metro Area Chapter. The RMA Chapter’s proposed platform will focus on Anti-poverty and Mental Health. The time is now to focus on the population that continues to be marginalized and ostracized. The proposed NCBW RMA Chapter proposes to be an advocate and lobbyist for this population to ensure a brighter future for all stakeholders impacted. Your membership and participation in the NCBW RMA Chapter will assist in making the lives of many women and children who live in poverty and suffer with mental illness, a life worth living.
Initial dues and a membership fee will be required along with your application and is based on the national requirements for membership.
Please forward your completed application along with your membership fee (check or money order) to P.O. Box. 3242, Henrico, VA 23228, c/o Dr. Delta R. Bowers.
