Career Development Conference, Saturday, October 24, 2015
Spring Creek Baptist Church Women’s Ministry in partnership with National Coalition of 100 Black Women hosted the very first Annual Career Development Conference on Saturday that was held at the church, October 24, 2015. Community service is regarded as very significant and honorable work a person or organization can do. With the partnership between the Spring Creek Women’s Ministry and Richmond Metropolitan Area Chapter (NCBW RMAC), the career conference provided dynamic and valuable information to everyone who attended. The agenda was overflowing with awesome speakers who delivered extremely valuable information, which addressed several areas from creating and marketing your brand, perfecting your interviewing skills, dress for success, writing better resumes and cover letters, and many other related topics.
women from the Coalition, ministry members, and guest speakers, and the survey results were overwhelmingly positive. Interest has been generated with the intent to follow up with participants to develop a process to mentor, and / or communicate with them throughout the year.
It is hoped that these organizations can work in collaboration with other future projects.
